MURRUMBIDGEE ARCHAEOLOGY
AND HERITAGE
Community Workshops
Research shows that engagement with and access to culture leads to better health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We believe that archaeology can be used as tool to enable Aboriginal people to engage with their culture, work on Country and actively manage their cultural heritage.
MAH has developed an introductory workshop in cultural heritage management and archaeological methods for Aboriginal representatives. Each workshop will be designed for cultural, geographic and demographic needs but will cover foundational elements, including:
-
Heritage Legislative Frameworks
-
Field methods
-
Artefact identification
-
Site recording protocols
